🔸️ Each one of us must carry out the given God's ministry! 🔸️
The Spirit-filled ministry is to fulfill the "particular" ministry that God has called them to do! Paul said "I am a servant!" and that "I am appointed as an Apostle" (Colossians 1: 23,25; 1Timothy 2:7). You see, this Paul was appointed by the nailed hands of His Saviour and he was not appointed by any man! God was calling him to be an Apostle!! Paul says in Colossians 1:25 that this call was 'given' to him. He made it clear that it was the gift that God gave him, but not the one that he himself sought and inherited! Further in this verse, he said that he received this call "in order to serve others."
God has a special calling for all of us. Therefore, praying for God to convert us to something which He does not call us to do, is futile. Because the Holy Spirit determines each person's gift!!
Paul was called to be an Apostle! But this calling is not for everyone!! Therefore, all we need to seek for the face of God and to ask is "the power to fulfill the call that God has made for us to do"! While Paul advised Archippus, he said "Be careful to carry out the ministry you have received from the Lord!" (Colossians 4:17).
God is not the one who places square cylinders in round cavities! God knows what his congregation needs at a particular time and at a particular place. He prepares each of us accordingly. The ministry He appointed for us may be very different from the ministry we want to do! However, if we are submissive to God's call, He will prepare us perfectly to fulfill that call!!
Prayer:
Dear Father! Help us to realize decisively the ministry you gave us! Give us the grace to complete that ministry in our lifetime! In the name of Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
