🔸️ Spiritual suffering makes us like Christ! 🔸️

In Matthew 5:4, Lord Jesus says "Blessed are those who mourn". We consider, this is the true nature of spiritual life. If so, in this world, "Why should we grieve?" That is a good question. Today the people are grieving for their injustice. In some way, others are grieving for the harm caused by others. But Jesus did not mention 'such' suffering! Because there is no joy or privilege in such misery! Spiritually speaking, such sorrow is not a privilege... rather it is a pity!

It is the spirit of Satan to make people feel sorry for us or to feel self-pity for us!!

Jesus was never self-compassionate. He never shed tears for his miseries. May all of us follow the example of this good Lord Jesus. Yes, let us be never shed tears for our own sufferings!

Then what should we grieve for? The first thing we should grieve is for our sin. Now all of us may raise question as to what is sin. As far as I know, all that hinders my spiritual growth is sin! Some people take the deadly evils of murder, adultery and theft as sin. They are certain that bad habits will destroy their Christian life. Still others consider sins such as unclean thoughts and desires for money which are formulated by Jesus for a high standard of living.

That's right, but the highest quality of all of these is that "everything that is not like Christ" is a sin. Those who grieve in their hearts daily for these things will surely be transformed like Christ. This is the consolation and privilege that true Christians enjoy!!

 Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father! Comfort us and 'answer' to our incessant grief of "becoming like Christ"! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
