🔸️ "We need the Royal Majesty of Jesus Christ" 🔸️
Judas betrayed Jesus! Peter denied Him! His followers abandoned Him! Large crowds parted after Him! He was unjustly persecuted, falsely accused and taken to be crucified.... However, when He went down the road to Calvary, He turned to the multitude and said, "Don't cry for me - I'm fine"!! (Luke 23:28). Yes, there was not even a little mark of self-pity! Who can live this precious life without the power of the Holy Spirit!!
He well knew that the cup He had been bearing was sent by the Father. Judas Iscariot, was only the servant who brought the cup! That's how it was possible for Jesus to call Judas lovingly as "Friend". You can never say this without the faith in God's perfect rule!
Next, Jesus said to Pilate, “if it hadn’t been given you from my Father, you have no authority over Me(John 19:11). This was the firm conviction that made Jesus like a king in this world! He lived with a spiritual honour and died with the same spiritual honour!!
We are now called to "walk as Jesus walked." As He "testified of the good witness" before Pilate, let us also live a life with 'good witnesses' before this unbelieving generation.
Prayer:
Our Heavenly Father! We know that "Your authority" was the cause of the Royal Majesty behind Jesus! Please be gracious to bestow the same magnificent nature on us in order to earn praises for Your name! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
