🔸️ Not to lean on our self understanding but obey to God! 🔸️

Baptism is the first step of obedience in the life of a disciple. This disciple who begins in this obedience..... continues to live in obedience throughout his life. Moreover, such obedience is not a matter of reason, but it should be the matter of faith and the "obedience to faith"!

If Jesus were to rely on His reasoning, He would never had gone to John the Baptist to be baptized. Because arguments about why He need not to be baptized, especially after presenting the reason that "Jesus never sinned" and one after the other reasons might have had mentioned to Him! Why does Jesus need to be baptized? Even John the Baptist could not understand. But Jesus, in all likelihood, abandoned all the arguments of His reasoning and sought to obey the voice of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:15).

Proverbs 3:5 states: "Trust in the Lord completely with your inner being 

and do not rely on what you yourself understand." Yes, the reasons for our own mind awareness are the first enemy of faith! Because "human reason" never understands spiritual truths!!

Baptism.....? A group of Christians think that it's all a trivial thing! "Like this" Naaman at first thought of Elisha's command as trivial! Naaman tried to ignore Elisha's command to wash seven times in the Jordan River to heal his leprosy. But when he obeyed the command, he got amazing healing in his body (2 Kings 5: 10-14). It is in such small things that God tests our obedience.

  Prayer:

Our Loving Father! Please be gracious upon us to obey Your words and to live not leaning on our self understanding! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
