🔸️ The disciples of the Lord Jesus are humble servants! 🔸️

Did Elisha done the only job of pouring water on the hands of Elijah to wash his hands? (2 Kings 3:11). The same Elisha "split the Jordan River into two!" ... "stopped the plague caused by the waters of Jericho!" Aren't such acts remarkably rare? But he was introduced here "as a servant"!!

Elisha was not disturbed by the title of "servant" bestowed upon him. Since the people were very clear about the ministry of Elisha as "Elijah's servant", the image was so ingrained in people's minds that "He is a servant!" That was why even the king's servant while mentioning Elisha called him as, "water pouring man!".

Today we too are called to be the "servants of others." Even our Master Jesus was seen to be "pouring water to wash the feet of His disciples." When referring to Jesus himself, He said, "the Son of Man didn't come to have servants but to be a servant" (Matthew 20:28). Looking at those who wanted to be "a Leader" on this Earth, Jesus said, "My kingdom is quite different from the attitude of the kingdoms of this World."

Therefore every servant of the Lord must be a servant to all men. Otherwise he will surely lose the honour of being the "servant of God"!! We must know two things that are contrary to the nature of a servant:

 1) The attitude of wishing to become known and glorified by everyone.

 2) A bossy attitude of the "leader" who governs others.

But we find that our Lord Jesus had the attitude that completely opposite to "these two" attitudes. Yes, 1) He emptied Himself; 2) He took the nature of a slave (Philippians 2:7). It is good for all of us, to look at these two divine attributes!!

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father! Have mercy on us to walk in the footsteps of our Master Jesus and to live as a humble servant like Him. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
