"His Voice Today"

🔸️ Wealth we seek may separate us from the Kingdom of God! 🔸️
One day, Jesus Christ got into Peter's boat and told him to take the boat to the deep sea and asked him to let his nets down into the water to catch some fish. When Peter did so, he caught more fish than ever before (Luke 5: 1-11). If Peter was like the present day Christian Businessmen, he would say "Lord, it is very surprising. Let You and myself be partners. You do the lecture and I'll support Your ministry through money! If my fish business grows like this, then I will become the richest business man in Israel quickly!! Further, my tithe will be helpful not only to You, but also to the Christian servants in many places of this land". Peter would have thought that he would go to many parts of the world, telling his testimony at many merchants' meetings, and thereby dragging the merchants towards Christ, the 'profit giver'. Such is the idea of those who controlled by flesh!
But Peter did not do that! He left his fishing business and followed Jesus. Yes, he passed the test.
Christians do not realize that God is testing them by enriching their ways in order to gain the most material things. Many Christians fail in this ordeal. Perhaps, they might become Apostles. Contrast to this, they become illusion 'millionaires'!
Years later, Peter was too far away from the banking business of a wealthy merchant who could say, "Silver and gold I do not have" (Acts 3:6). But he had something more than that. He lost the trashy worldly wealth to receive the Eternal wealth of the Kingdom of Christ!!
Prayer:
Our Loving Father! Thank You for warning us that we are being tempted by the wealth we have! Be gracious on us, to be truthful in the ordeal! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
