🔸️ Not the sermon, "the desire of holiness" will change us! 🔸️
It doesn't matter what sermon we received about sanctification! True Holiness is attainable only to those who seeks it with all his heart, but not to the one who has the right teaching on his head!
For example, the teachings of the Godly men lived in the last Centuries can be taken as model. According to the doctrine of the holy man John Fletcher, who lived some Centuries ago: "They believe that they have already been completely sanctified and that their unknown sins are only mistakes".
On the contrary, devotees who lived at the times of David Brainard, had the doctrines of "unknown sins are also sins" and they were mourning for the rest of their lives "for the nature of the sin still prevailing in them and for the lack of meditation with God"! Although these two groups were completely different in their evaluation of the sanctity of their lives, the holiness of these two groups was equally considered in the eyes of God!!
Their different approaches of understanding the doctrine of the sanctification and they were looking at the sanctity of their hearts at a different angle! Therefore, the secret of sanctification does not come from understanding the meaning of the Greek words or by properly learning the teachings of the New Testament!
On the contrary, we can attain true holiness with a wholehearted desire and our fervent desire to please God!
Because God is eager to see the longing of our hearts .... He has no ecstacy in seeing the knowledge of our brains!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father! It is not our greatness to know holiness! Give us a life to attain that Holiness with utmost desire! In the name of Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
