🔸️ Don't lose the essence of salt in the witnessed life! 🔸️
Jesus said in Matthew 5:13 "You are the salt of the Earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot".
Salt was used in Lord Jesus' days to preserve meat. That is, salt was a symbol of opposing evil. Likewise, a true Christian, through his life of faithful witness, opposes the evils of this world and controls them. This privilege belongs to every true Christian, as Lord Jesus said.
We cannot cast off evil from this World. Jesus will do this when He returns in glory. But we can now control the evils of the World through our witnessed life!!
Suppose, for example, many people are sitting in a room in your office talking bad words and chatting with jokes. At that time, you who are living the witnessed faithful Christian life are entering into the room. The next moment of your entering, the buzz is gone and there is silent! Yes, this is the nature of the tasteful salt that controlling the evil!! On the contrary, if you are not the tasty salt and lost the saltiness, there will be 'jokes' and 'bad words' continuing even after you enter the room!!
But the Lord Jesus Christ expects us to be in control of sin and evil if we enter our office, our unrepentant relative's homes, or anywhere else. This is the life of salty! Jesus Christ, the Lord, showed this kind of life as an example for us to follow.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father! Give us the grace not to lose the witnessed life of a true Christian. Gracious on me to abide the life of tasteful salty life that brings awareness to many! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
