 "His Voice Today"

🔸️ Our eyes must see the One, who is exalted in the Heavenly realms! 🔸️

We read in 2Kings 2:1-22 about the incident of prophet Elijah "taken to heaven" alive. God had foretold Elijah that Elisha would accept his ministry after he was taken away. Similarly, the Lord Jesus Christ delegated to His disciples the ministry that He had accomplished even when He was “taken up to heaven” from this Earth! How exciting it is that we find in Acts 1: 1-9 when the disciples received the Spirit of Christ on Pentecost, just as Elisha received the spirit of Elijah!!

The sons of the prophet came to Elisha and said, "The LORD will take away your master Elijah from you today" (2 Kings 2:3,5). But when Elijah was taken away, they didn't believe that "Elijah was truly taken up to heaven!" Instead, they sought him here and there on this Earth. Likewise, today's multitudes of Christians are saying, "Our Lord is in heaven!" But their eyes do not see the 'real' fact that the Lord Jesus is exalted above the Universe. Elijah said to Elisha, "When you see me at the time when I would be leaving you and taken to Heaven, you will receive the double portion of my spirit!"

Yes, we can receive the fullness of the Spirit only if our own eyes can see that Jesus is exalted above all creations!

In this way, Paul prayed for the believers of Ephesus, for their hearts to see that Christ was exalted above the heavens (Eph.1:18-23).

Prayer:

Our Loving Heavenly Father! Please be gracious upon us to see the "Almighty Power" of the Lord Jesus truly, who died, resurrected and was exalted in the most high. Bless us to receive the power of the Spirit! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
