🔸️ It needs a good heart to use the name of Jesus! 🔸️
We all know that Elisha struck the waters of the Jordan River with "Elijah's cloak". While we can compare Elijah to Christ who went to heaven and this Elisha to the Church, which is being remained on the Earth to continue the ministry of Christ.... we can compare the cloak left by Elijah to the "name of the Lord Jesus Christ" that Jesus Christ entrusted to His church! Just as Elisha used the cloak to make his way through the Jordan River, Jesus has given us the power to use His name to remove obstacles that appear in our way of life!
Yet, there is no use in repeating the name of Jesus again and again like magic! Those who did so did not manifest any power in life. They couldn't even move the mountains that stood in their way of life!!
At one time, Gehazi got up, took Elisha's stick and put it at the dead child, just as Elisha had said. At that time this Gehazi might have said with greater authority, "Rise from the dead in the name of the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob!" He might have been saying that loudly, but nothing happened!
So, God does not see only the word that a man speaks! He sees his heart. The power of the words depends on the nature of person who uses it!
God was well aware that Gehazi's heart was not positioned in the glory of God but it was in the glory of this World and in his own gain!!
Elisha's heart was not like that! He sought only the glory of God! That was why God conferred His authority on him. That was why, as soon as Elisha prayed, the dead child was immediately resurrected! Jordan River split into two when he struck it with his cloak!!
Prayer:
Our Heavenly Father! Give us the grace to prove in our good hearted lives that there is power "in the name of Jesus"! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
