🔸️ Fellowship with God is prayer's superiority! 🔸️
The time that the Lord Jesus united with His Father was 'great joy' for Him. If we look at the clock and pray, it means our relationship with God is not right. Bible teaches us that the relationship we have with Christ is similar to the relationship the bride has with the bridegroom.
Imagine for a second about the relationship of the bridegroom and the bride after their marriage engagement. During their meet if they look at the clock, it will be a strange thing. Yes, true lovers never measure their fellowship by the clock time. Prayer is the same way. Those who are united in true love with Christ would never boast that they prayed for so many hours!!
The Lord Jesus gave the reason why we should not pray vain words. Jesus said, "because your Father knows what you need before you ask Him" (Matthew 6:8). So, prayer should not be an act of declaring needs. He already knows that 'this is what is needed'. He already knows our needs, our circumstances and our future!
To be honest, He knew our circumstances many years ago. "Then why should we pray?" What is the true purpose of prayer? Yes, the primary purpose of prayer is to have relationship with the Father and with the Son, Jesus Christ! Secondly, His purpose for us is to be fellow servants with God! That is why we are called to pray.
Prayer:
Our Heavenly Father! Thank you for we realise that our prayer time is a pleasant fellowship time with you! Give us the grace to keep growing this loving relationship with You! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
