🔸️ Sufferings that bring Blessings! 🔸️
"God blesses those who are persecuted for doing right, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.."
(Matthew 5:10). See how Lord Jesus associates "bliss" with suffering. Jesus taught us to forgive, love and to pray for those who hurted us! Thus, we prove ourselves as the "children of a loving Father" by doing good to those who did evil to us. Yes, God is good to everyone! Perhaps a close friend or relative has done you deadly harm behind your back. Don't cry for it! Instead, rejoice in the fact that "I too have the privilege of following Jesus' footsteps". At situations like this, let the 'mind of Christ' rules you!!
I have read about some 'pastors' who have been in prison for many years for the sake of the Lord. How painful this could be for their wives! We all should pray for Christian families who are being persecuted in many countries, even today. We feel that the time of tribulations for our Indian nation is nearing. Let us pray that God will protect us and to remain steadfast in the faith. In these circumstances, it is good to read books about the martyrs who persecuted and died for the Lord. It's quite sure that books like these will help to strengthen us in times of troubles!
"The sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is going to be revealed to us" (Romans 8:18)
"I know that all these troubles that happen to us in this life are not significant and will not last forever. When we think of the glorious things that God is preparing for us to enjoy forever in heaven, all our suffering now is not important" (2 Corin 4:17).
Let's accept the verses that comforting us!
Prayer:
Our loving Father! The sufferings that occur in our lives make the scriptures really come true within us and bring the glory of Heaven! Please grant us the grace to live carefully! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
