🔸️ We must have compassion for other souls! 🔸️
Let's think the history of Joseph who was unjustly imprisoned. In that prison, Joseph had forgotten his own sorrows and the sorrows of other prisoners had occupied him! Thus was Joseph's concern for Pharaoh's cupbearer, which eventually led him out of prison!
Do you see, genuine concern for others could become the first step to liberate yourself! (Genesis 40:7).
Scripture assures us that "Though one goes along weeping, carrying the bag of seed, he will surely come back with shouts of joy, carrying his sheaves."
(Psalm 126:6).
Seeing the backsliding of God's people, Jeremiah wept, "wishing that his eyes would be filled with tears and that his eyes would overflow with tears continually for God's people" (Jeremiah 9: 1; 13:17).
Daniel wept for the sins of God's people (Daniel 9: 20,21).
Ezra and Nehemiah wept over the plight of God's fallen people (Ezra 10:1; Nehemiah 1:4).
Paul's heart was filled with bitter sorrow and unending grief for his Jewish people (Romans 9:1-3).
As we have become so accustomed to idol towers and statues in our country, they seem to have no impact in our spirit (Acts 17:16). But because of the Nation we live in, we all have a responsibility before the Lord! God mentioned about this in 2 Chronicles 7:14: "If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land".
Prayer:
Our heavenly Father! May our prayers not be selfish but praying for the salvation of others and for the salvation of our Nation! Please be gracious on us to pray fervently for others; In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
