🔸️ Broken life can give the Divine reflection! 🔸️
Brother Lawrence through the excellent book "Desiring God's Presence" became known to many. This Lawrence was an ordinary brother who worked in the kitchen of an educational Institution. Others in the kitchen where he worked were always making "noices" for different works. The noise of utensils was always around him. However, amidst all these, his spirit was remained unaffected. He could felt God's presence in the midst of the noise of the kitchen as much as he felt the presence of God in his private prayer! To that extent Brother Lawrence hated his human soul and had learned to draw close to God in his spirit. Ah, it's a privilege!!
Many people today feel that they can have the presence of God only when they are free from the trouble raising through utensils sounds. They think that how much farther away from humans, the more they can feel the presence of God. What a huge mistake it is? Nuisance is not in the utensils or other people..... On the contrary, these are the ones who are bothering themselves!! God is not going to free us from the noices of utensils. But he can certainly free us from the reflections caused by these things.
No matter how loud the outside sounds around us, if we are humble and broken in spirit, there will be no response in us (John 12:24,25). As our outer hard shell is broken by the Lord, so our reflection can be like those who hear no sound!
Prayer:
Loving Father! Teach us the "self broken life" that characterizes the reflection of our lives, as fitting for godliness! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
