🔸️ Others must see the "light" in us! 🔸️
Once upon a time, the Lord said of Himself, "I am the light of the world when I am in the world" (John 9:5). But after Lord Jesus left this world, He appointed us as "the light of the world"! (Matthew 5:14) This is the greatest responsibility of any true Christian!!
The light that Lord Jesus revealed is not some doctrine or teaching!! That is not even the New Testament truth!! He illuminated His own 'life' as Light. It was from the life of Jesus that the divine nature shined for us!! By saying, "We have received the light," we are claiming the anointing of the Holy Spirit, the victory over sin and the truths like these that we have received. But, that's not.... We must shine the light of the "Life of Jesus"!
It is written twice in the New Testament that "no one has ever seen God." Yes, it was Jesus who first revealed to us about God (John 1:18). When Jesus put his hands on a leper's shoulder and hugged him, He revealed how "God is like!" When He expelled the cashiers from the temple, He revealed "how God is like!" Thus, Jesus deliberately told his disciples, "Those who have seen me, it is as though they have seen my Father"(John14:9). That Jesus has now gone to heaven!
As the disciples saw the Father in Jesus, "if we love one another", people today can still see that God abides in us and that God is in our Church (1John 4:12). Those who keenly observing us in the Church should be able to know through us "How Christ will be!" Thus, if we fail to reflect "Jesus' life" as our light through life, we have missed our main calling! God expects us the responsibility of our 'living'!
Prayer:
Our loving Heavenly Father! Just as people saw the "light" life that Jesus had, help us to glorify You, by making our living 'light' visible to others! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
