"His Voice Today"
October 30
🔸️ We must lift up others in their downfall through our prayers! 🔸️
In the parable of the good Samaritan, we see the difference between the attitude of the Priest and the Samaritan. The priest saw the man lying there and might have left that place saying, "Praise the Lord! I have not fallen like this!" (Luke 10: 30-37). Even today, when a believer falls, another believer behaves like this priest! He says to others "Look, that brother has fallen"!! What this believer implicitly saying proudly is "See! I have not fallen!!"
But, in contrast to all of them, what the good Samaritan had done? He didn't left away, praising the Lord for his victory over sin. He immediately went down and took him up... He took him to the inn to get him well! After Jesus told this parable, He commanded "Now go and do the same!" (Luke 10:37).
Today, do we have the same attitude as this good Samaritan, when we see weakness in a brother or when we see him fallen in one area of his life? Do we lift that brother through our prayers and lead him towards Jesus, in order to get him healed? Yes, is our life God-centered or not? Such an incident is a good test for us to know that.
It is because of the self-centered desire to show that "I am more spiritual than the others", we do not care about others when they fall into sin. This is a terrible evil! We must console those who have fallen and to become the prayer-warriors for them!
Prayer:
Our loving Father! Give us the humble heart for we should not be spiritually proud, but to pray for others with genuine concern in their downfall! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
