🔸️ Divine presence that not leaving us! 🔸️
Once upon a time, a brother had a fervent desire to live in God's presence continuously. To achieve this goal, he accustomed himself for praying briefly at every hour of the clock struck. But in the meanwhile, when he was engaged in worldly work, he realized that he was distancing himself from the presence of God. So, with every hour of the clock sounding, he tried to bring himself back into the presence of God. His desire is good. Yet, he could not achieve the privilege of continuously protecting the presence of God!
He tried to keep the presence of God within his "memory power"! That was the wrong thing he had. In line with the fluctuation of his memory, the sense of the divine presence also fluctuated within him!! It is foolish to try to live in God's presence like this.
Because the presence of God is in our spirit and not in our memory power!
Still some believers hope that they are "in God's presence" when they are happy. But, when joy leaves them, the presence of God too leaves them! Still others have the thinking that God is near to them, when they weep and grieve. But alas, one cannot shed tears for the rest of his life! So as soon as the tears dry up, "presence of God" will disappear!!
We can say categorically that there is not much beauty in a man than the beauty of a broken hearted man. It is to such a person, stubbornness and self-love are broken and pave the way to get the meek. As his hard shell breaks, God gives His presence through "his broken spirit" as an everlasting unity!!
Prayer:
Heavenly Father! Not in our emotions but in our broken lives, give us the grace to live in your presence forevermore that rests in our spirit; In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
